  Ortano beach is 3 km away and can be reached by car in just a few minutes (ample on-site parking is available). The beach is made of mixed sand, and umbrella rentals, diving, and other services are available. Rio nell'Elba is an ancient medieval town located on a hill overlooking the coast. The historic center is characterized by narrow, winding streets and numerous historic buildings, including the Church of San Niccolò, the Volterraio Castle, and the Town Hall. Other nearby must-sees include RIO MARINA (with supermarkets, all kinds of restaurants, shows, and attractions, including the Mining Museum); and seaside towns such as Nisporto, Nisportino, Ortano, Topinetti, Cavo, Porticciolo, and Molina. The area is characterized by beautiful beaches, bays, cliffs, and inlets, making it a popular tourist destination. Diving courses with PADI certification are available, as are boat and canoe rentals and e-bike rentals with guided tours of the mining park. Thanks to its scenic location, Rio nell'Elba also offers numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, cycling, trekking, horseback riding, and water sports. The traditional cuisine, served in all the area's restaurants, is based on local produce, including fresh fish, extra virgin olive oil, fruit, and vegetables. Traditional dishes of the area include cod sburrita, cacciuco, torta Briaca, stewed stockfish, etc.
